Liberty Walk is a company founded in 2008 and located in the Aichi Prefecture of Japan. Liberty Walk is known for the customization of Ferrari’s, Lamborghini’s, McLaren’s, and just about anything stupid fast. The motto, “imagine all the people living life in peace,” is usually the staple door graphic of any Liberty Walk custom build and is the pinnacle of their foundation.

The Liberty Walk style has always been influenced by the old-school, traditional Japanese custom car culture. We’re talking no bumpers, retro fitting headlights, cutting fenders, adding wider wheels and fender flares – “Bosozoku” style at its finest – the Works. Founded in 2008, Wataru Kato (Kato-San) started what would become a global phenomenon with a Lamborghini Murcielago. The concept was to bake the JDM wide body style into an Italian performance machine. It was a hit at SEMA, and Kato -San went on to customize many more Lambos with his personalized LB★performance Lamborghini Body Kits.

“Everyone has something that is priceless to them. It doesn’t have to be something expensive, just special!”

Wataru Kato (Kato-San) Owner, Founder / Liberty Walk

After the 2012 SEMA Show, Liberty Walk became somewhat of a global household name in automotive customization. There was a huge demand from other vehicles interested in the Liberty Walk concept. Soon after, Liberty Walk introduced customization body kits for the Ferrari, Nissan GT-R, McLaren, Maserati, and many more super cars. They did not stop there. To date, Liberty Walk has extended their vehicle range of customized Body Kits for Ford, Dodge, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Lexus, Toyota and even the UK favorite Mini Coopers, just to name a few.

The latest development of Body Kits – branded as LB★Nation – center around domestically sold cars like the Ford Mustang, Scion FR-S, Infiniti G37 and Nissan 350Z. LB★Nation was conceptualized to be the bridge between the most popular U.S. domestic vehicles and the “Bosozoku” style made popular in Japan, and perfected by Kato-San.

As of late 2019 – Liberty Walk estimates more than 200 LB★Works cars are on the road in Japan and more than 350 in the rest of the world. Every kit is handmade, inspected, certified and shipped freight directly from Japan. These are not mass production units – as they are ONLY made once an order has been received.
